Bidvertiser Ads for Feeds Launches

A new addition to the feed advertising arena launched its service in public beta today. With more options of monetizing feeds, bloggers and web publishers face an increasing stream of income sources. As more people switch to reading primarily from RSS readers, the amount of income from direct blog advertising will slowly decline, changing the marketing focus to the feeds.
Bidvertiser has launched Bidvertiser Ads for Feeds, which will allow you to show the Bidvertiser CPC ads in your feeds as well as get access to their feed widgets to help publicize your new feed.
To Set Up Ads Within Bidvertiser Feeds
First, login or create a publisher account and click ‘Add New Bidvertiser’. This step is if you haven’t used Bidvertiser before, and guides you through setting up your first publisher site. Within Publishers Center > Manage Bidvertisers > Bidvertiser Center (which is usually displayed shortly after signing in), find the text saying [Public Beta - BidVertiser ads for your RSS/ATOM feeds. Click here to start!].
Signup Form

You should now be under ‘Bidvertiser for your Feed’. Select the site’s feed you wish to monetize from the drop down menu, then type in your feed URL. Name the feed something (preferably your blog’s title). Verify your feed ownership by adding a temporary post with a unique verification code provided to you. Wait a minute or two until the code is found within your feed, then it will become verified.
Ownership/Confirmation Message

At this point, a new feed URL will be provided to you (http://feeds.bidvertiser.com/YOUR_FEED_NAME) with links, widgets, and images to help your readers take advantage of the new feed. Simple steps are provided for adding the code to WordPress, TypePad, and Blogger blogs.
Feed Widgets Available

If you are using the FeedBurner, you will likely be able to keep track of feeds even though you use the Bidvertiser advertising program.
Sample Ad

The launch of this program can be looked at as direct competition with FeedBurner, which uses a modified version of Google’s ads within blog feeds. You may have to completely overhaul your feed campaign in order to make more money, so it might be easier sticking with the FeedBurner ad program.
