AdSense for Video Launched in Beta
by Kevin on February 21, 2008
AdSense publishers and YouTube partners now have an additional source of revenue sharing as the AdSense for video, which was created as a pilot last May, went into beta today.
In a snapshot, the program will allow you to take advantage of the growing online video community. When publishing videos, the opportunity will be available to share your video across the YouTube network and sites using the AdSense video units (better explained and previewed in the video below).
Advertisers will be able to display ads (text overlay ads and InVideo ads), paid on a CPM and CPC basis, respectively.
However, there are several things that will prevent most users from taking advantage of AdSense in video.
- Publishers must serve at least one million video streams each month.
- Publishers must be based in the U.S. with English language sites.
Publishers outside of the US and/or with less monthly streams will have to wait until the program is expanded in the near future.
