6 Tips to Help Jump Start Your Blog Offline
by Kevin on May 26, 2008
All online businesses started in some form as an offline idea, a concept that had hopes of making it big, revolutionizing the industry that was the creator(s) were setting out to change. Even in today’s connected world, it is important to realize the potential for developing your offline partnerships when starting up new websites or services.
Beginning a new venture offline is beneficial for everyone, as it allows you to think from the “non-connected” point of view, being able to visualize how the customers, either visitors or consumers of your product, will ultimately judge and use your service. Think about it more in the sense that all online businesses, and those rooted offline, have online/offline communication and departments managing different factors of the business, from financing to development. Your online business, even if it is simply a small startup blog, will need that ability to prosper in the long-term.
- The first step in creating a successful business centered online is to develop open communication with people in the physical world, people that may be able to provide some capital to get your business started. These people may not necessarily be business investors, but rather people that you can trust to provide good advice when you need it most.
- Secondly, begin planning every step of how you want to approach your new business (or side business), from the main monetization approach to the content distribution. Be sure that you can back up any slow periods with content that has been created when you are sucessful – there are no “breaks” in serious business.
- Thirdly, don’t let the thoughts of others deter you from your intentions. If your family member tell you that your business will never succeed, avoid exhausting your energy on negative thinking, instead adopt points of their “advice” and grow your business!
- It doesn’t hurt to try some offline marketing tactics such as advertising in local newspapers or try some word of mouth marketing. There may be a strong demand for the particular product (or blog) you are trying to promote from people that haven’t thought about trying to find it online.
- Customers need to be happy, even if they are just routine visitors you are hoping will click on ads or purchase something through a referral link. If possible, keep connections with them offline or through email. They will be more likely to generate an income from your site than if you ignore their thoughts.
- Lastly, make sure that everything you do is kept track of offline. The biggest reason for this is knowing where all your spending is going and whether you are making any profit. At incremental periods, you can upload this information to a financial program and see where improvement can be had.

This is certainly a difficult time for us all in these trying times. I feel that the market has seen the worst of the downturns. This is not to say that there won’t be any more bad news resulting in market downturns.

An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was performing just a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast mainly because I located it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to talk about this, I feel strongly about it and love reading far more on this topic. If feasible, as you turn out to be expertise, would you mind updating your weblog with additional details? It’s highly valuable for me. Massive thumb up for this blog post!
