Previous WPDesigner Owner Refunds Members
Tung Do, also known as Small Potato of WP Designer, as you may recall, sold his blog earlier this year shortly after releasing his “premium themes club.”
Small Potato was a well-respected designer within the community, not placing any ads or selling any products until this year, only releasing content – themes, tips, and tutorials to the community that he helped build over the past two years.
However, when the new owner purchased the blog, he left as soon as he arrived. Both parties promised that the themes club would last, but the plans never lasted, and members became disappointed that their contribution wouldn’t go to funding the $5/year cost for the club.
Within the next week (if not already), it has been reported that Small Potato is refunding the members who did pay to access the four themes (an extremely good value, even with just four released).
There doesn’t appear to be any change in the way the “Pawel Ciszewski” character is going to change the direction of the site (at least someone is still paying the $400/month hosting fee), and no way to contact the previous owner (braintied.com is no longer available/not loading).
Despite the relatively low cost, it is good to see the promise being kept. Overall, members who have received the refund are graciously taking it, although they wish that it would have been taken as a “donation.”
