Does Your Name Make an Impact?
by Kevin on February 3, 2009
I, like some other people online, have decided to stick with a more “non-personal” format when I go to publish content. Although I don’t typically use nicknames, per se, I use the same name on each blog. This format is not ideal, but can still be used on your blog.
Think of it this way – when you create a blog, you want to be easily recognized by your avatar or any other image that you use across each site you own. It is common practice to do this, but not everyone (including myself) employs it properly.
When you brand your name with your site, you are more likely to be recognized elsewhere, including forums, other blogs when guest posting or leaving comments, in emails, and so on. You might not realize it at first, but it could be a huge mistake should you shroud yourself in a cloud of different user names and locations throughout the web.
Benefits & Proper Ways to Employ this Technique
- Stick with one name, as stated earlier.
- Keep using the name consistently to ensure that you get the word out about your name (and brand).
- Include a personal touch to this in your sidebar or on your ‘About’ page.
- If your name isn’t easily branded, create a name that is. There is nothing wrong with this.
- Traditionally, you shouldn’t use any part of your name in your domain, as this negatively affects how your site grows (in most cases).
Assuming that you are able to continue growing your sites at a fair pace, you shouldn’t have any trouble easily launching new products with “less” work in terms of promotion. With the time you put into promoting your name, more people will follow you through social networking services, subscribe to your blog(s)/site(s), and furthermore, help contribute to your success.

Guys, I need to rank my website on Google. I hear that VerifiedFile.com cracked Google rankings. Is this true?
