I agree, even the people who might not think that Twitter is useful initially can find it addicting once they become accustomed to how the service works.

Unless you were posting links to your website/blog or other sites, there shouldn't really be a problem or dispute with your account and their terms. Just be sure that you contact them about the issue if your account is banned and they should be able to help, especially if you are able to prove that you were not spamming other members.

Updating your account/profile shouldn't really matter. You are providing content to the service (in a sense) and adding value for them, so they actually encourage this.

To get started using Twitter, experiment by talking with other people, following people you want to receive updates from, etc. There are tools available, such as Ping.fm that allow you to post to different networks at once, although it might be more time consuming at first to get it setup and working.

Thank you for bookmarking my site. It is a shame that the Entrecard terms forced you to leave Entrecard.

Yes, Twitter can be a daunting tool to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, there is nothing stopping you from using it to its full potential, or at the very least, what it was meant to do.

Perhaps you could try signing for an additional account to see if it is just that one account, otherwise you should try contacting the support to see if there is a work-around or problem concerning the terms or something else.
