Clear Your Mind to Produce Killer Content

Cactus Needle Bokeh - Be Sharp

It’s been a stressful day. You’ve come home from work (or school) and it is now time for you to blog. There are many people who do this every day, and it is a ritual that can’t really be avoided. Those who have been able to make blogging a full-time career are considered to be rather lucky, as they are pursuing a career they love. However, for the rest of us, this quick change of pace can mean that your mind is left clouded.

When you sit down to blog, you need to have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. Let’s say you haven’t published a new post today, so you want to get this done, you will also want to update your social network stream (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) where you are also publishing your articles. Spread out and communicate with others. While this approach may not be ideal, it is also one that has to be done if you want to accomplish as much as possible in the time you have after your other tasks.

Before long, you realize that being consistent in providing killer content to your readers isn’t possible each and every day. You have to learn what works for you. Some prefer to write an article (getting it out of the way) before they move onto their “normal” life, while others can write during their break and publish it later.

No matter what approach you use, you have to keep something in mind: if you can’t clear your mind, your content will reflect this.

How to Clear Your Mind – The Simple Method

Below I’ve outlined a few simple tips bloggers (including myself) like to use to clear their minds before replying to hundreds of emails or writing new posts.

  1. Relax – You can’t write great content if you are frustrated or extremely stressed. Get into a comfortable position and begin writing.
  2. Focus – Having a clear mind and being focused go hand-in-hand. Experience what you need to do, rather than just thinking about it.
  3. Don’t Perfect – Being a perfectionist will prevent you from focusing. If you make mistakes while trying to focus, revise them after you’ve completed what you need to do.
  4. Don’t Become Frustrated – Not everyone will be able to focus at first, so it might take some time.
  5. Remove Clutter – Clutter in your life can also distract you from performing at your best.

Conclusion

There are old tales where writers have isolated themselves for days on end just to complete their works. Some of these may have been exaggerated, but they did this to remain focused and determined to get their particular tasks done.

When it comes to your blog or anything online, know what needs to get done, and then focus on getting it done. Begin this with a clear mind, and there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get it done.
